Post 6: A subject you’ve enjoyed studying this semester

My favorite subject this semester is the cross section of "gender, feminism and sexuality", I like the subject because it is important that it is taught and made known to the greatest number of women, these subjects that in other places are frowned upon or silenced. In this field diverse perspectives are covered, economics, pedagogy, epistemology, feminists, genders and sexualities, theory of the darling, among others. This branch is very dynamic and interesting, it shows videos, the work is free to choose the subject and format, and a variety of professors who teach each one in their area of expertise. I think that this branch should be mandatory in all careers, since it is important to know about these issues to be able to live in a society that is less macho and patriotic, and more informed, tolerant and respectful of our peers, without discrimination and violence. I am interested in continuing to learn along with all the topics in the class. I am currently doing a fanzi...

Post 5: Who is a person / expert in your field that you admire?

Ignacio Martin Baro SJ, (Valladolid, November 7, 1942 - San Salvador, November 16, 1989), was a Spanish Jesuit psychologist, philosopher and priest who dedicated most of his life to the investigation of social and political reality From El Salvador.  He fought for Human Rights, equality and social justice in El Salvador. He was a follower of Liberation Theology, father of liberation social psychology and the main reference in Latin American critical social psychology and, especially in community psychology and political psychology. I like the criticism he makes of the negative impact of US policy on his country and of traditional hegemonic psychology and I agree with his thesis where he states that psychology must be related to the social and historical context of the territory where the study takes place. Baró is an inspiration for me within my career, since I share a lot his psychological and political point of view, his interest in the resistance of the peoples to dictato...

Post 4: A picture that you like

This photo was taken by my boyfriend, on September 14, 2019, in the cajon del maipo, the trip lasted 2 days, and that was one of the few photos that we could take, since we ran out of battery in that cell phone, That day was a lot of fun, since the place where we decided to camp was very beautiful, because there was a lot of nature, as shown in the photo, we were next to a river, mountains, trees, colors and animals. As there were no more people, I felt a lot of peace and tranquility, together with good company and being in trust, I felt security. I like this photo because it reminds me of that trip, and it makes me nostagic, since this year due to the covid-19, it was not allowed to go out, so it was not possible to enjoy moments like this in the open air. I hope these moments will be repeated later.

Post 3: My favorite piece of technology

Imagen
My favorite technological device is the cell phone, because I find it very useful and comfortable, this wireless device, I like it because it offers thousands of applications that can facilitate us at school, work or in the day to day, with internet access and battery . I use it frequently, to talk with my friends, get informed, play games, listen to music, study and take photos, this being the main factor when I get one, I worry that it has a good camera that captures good moments. However, it can become a dependency. In my opinion life should not depend on it, it even has us very subjected, and sometimes it is good to take distance from this device despite its functions and usefulness, and to interact face to face between people and enjoy nature, and not depend on any machine.

Post 2: Why did you choose this career/study programme?

Imagen
When I was young, my dream job was to be a teacher, later I became interested in being a veterinarian. In high school I became more interested in social and political issues, for which I chose social work my first option, which I agreed to study last year and the first semester of this, however I managed to change to psychology, since that career was the most interesting. My experience at the university the first year was pleasant, I met very nice and interesting people, it was not so difficult for me, however this second year, with online classes, due to Covid-19 and the change of career has made me very difficult, however I will do my best and continue my journey well until I am entitled. I would like to practice in the social or forensic psychological area.
